Additional Configurations

Create an Installation Log File

The MSI installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following commands to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

TortoiseSVN (32-bit Systems) Silent Install with Logging

MsiExec.exe /i TortoiseSVN-x.y.z-win32-svn-x.y.z.msi /qn /norestart /L*v "%WINDIR%\Temp\TortoiseSVN.log"

TortoiseSVN (64-bit Systems) Silent Install with Logging

MsiExec.exe /i TortoiseSVN-x.y.z-x64-svn-x.y.z.msi /qn /norestart /L*v "%WINDIR%\Temp\TortoiseSVN.log"

Change Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing TortoiseSVN to “C:\TortoiseSVN”

TortoiseSVN (32-bit Systems)

MsiExec.exe /i TortoiseSVN-x.y.z-win32-svn-x.y.z.msi INSTALLDIR="C:\TortoiseSVN" /qn /norestart

TortoiseSVN (64-bit Systems)

MsiExec.exe /i TortoiseSVN-x.y.z-x64-svn-x.y.z.msi INSTALLDIR="C:\TortoiseSVN" /qn /norestart
