How to Install Cisco Webex Teams Silently

Webex Teams 32-bit Silent Install (MSI)

  1. Navigate to: https://binaries.webex.com/WebexTeamsDesktop-Windows-Gold/Webex_x86.msi
  2. Download the Webex_x86.msi to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following command:  MsiExec.exe /i Webex_x86.msi ACCEPT_EULA=TRUE ALLUSERS=1 /qn
  6. Press Enter

After a few moments you should see the Webex Teams Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create a Webex Teams Installation Log File

The Webex Teams installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following command to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change the Webex Teams Default Installation Directory

You can change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing Webex Teams to “C:\Webex Teams”

MsiExec.exe /i Webex.msi INSTALL_ROOT="C:\Webex Teams" ACCEPT_EULA=TRUE ALLUSERS=1 /qn

Delete Webex Teams User Database

This command line parameter will delete any existing user database or log files.

MsiExec.exe /i Webex.msi ACCEPT_EULA=TRUE ALLUSERS=1 DELETEUSERDATA=1 /qn

Disable Webex Teams Auto Upgrade

This command line parameter will prevent the Webex Teams client from performing auto upgrades.

Disable Webex Teams Auto-Start Feature

This command line parameter will prevent the Webex Teams client from running at Windows startup.
