WizTree Silent Install (How-To Guide)

WizTree is a disk space analyzer that scans your hard drive and shows you which files and folders are using the most disk space. How to Install WizTree Silently

  1. Navigate to: https://wiztreefree.com/
  2. Download the wiztree_x_yz_setup.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following command: wiztree_x_yz_setup.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
  6. Press Enter

After a few moments you should see the WizTree Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create a WizTree Installation Log File

The WizTree installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following commands to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Exclude the WizTree Desktop Shortcut During Install

The WizTree installer includes a desktop shortcut by default. If you don’t want the desktop shortcut included during installation, then you can run the following command line switch.

Change the WizTree Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing WizTree to “C:\WizTree”

wiztree_x_yz_setup.exe /DIR="C:\WizTree" /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
