VictronConnect Silent Install (How-To Guide)

VictronConnect lets you get live status info and configure Victron products using a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or a VE.Direct to USB interface. How to Install VictronConnect Silently

VictronConnect Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to: https://updates.victronenergy.com/feeds/VictronConnect/windows/w7/VictronConnectInstaller.exe
  2. Download the VictronConnectInstaller.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following commands:
VictronConnectInstaller.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
TASKKILL /F /IM VictronConnect.exe

After a few moments you should see the VictronConnect Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create a VictronConnect Installation Log File

The VictronConnect installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following command to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change the VictronConnect Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing VictronConnect to “C:\VictronConnect”

VictronConnectInstaller.exe /DIR="C:\VictronConnect" /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
TASKKILL /F /IM VictronConnect.exe

Exclude the VictronConnect Desktop Shortcut During Install

The VictronConnect installer creates a desktop shortcut by default. If you do not want the desktop shortcut, then you can run the following command line switches to exclude it.
