UltraViewer Silent Install (How-To Guide)

UltraViewer is software that helps you to remote control your client’s computer to support them like you’re sitting in front of the screen. This article will serve as an informative guide and give you a clear understanding of how to perform a silent installation of UltraViewer from the command line using the EXE installer.

How to Install UltraViewer Silently

UltraViewer Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to: https://ultraviewer.net/en/download.html
  2. Select the Install (EXE)
  3. Download the UltraViewer_setup_x.x_en.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  4. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  5. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  6. Enter the following command: UltraViewer_setup_x.x_en.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
  7. Press Enter

After a few moments you should see the UltraViewer Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create an UltraViewer Installation Log File

The UltraViewer installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following command to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change the UltraViewer Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing UltraViewer to “C:\UltraViewer”

UltraViewer_setup_x.x_en.exe /DIR="C:\UltraViewer" /VERYSILENT /NORESTART

Exclude the UltraViewer Desktop Shortcut During Install

The UltraViewer installer creates a desktop shortcut by default. If you do not want the desktop shortcut, then you can run the following command line switches to exclude it.

  1. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
