How to Install UaExpert Silently
UaExpert Silent Install (EXE)
- Navigate to: https://www.unified-automation.com/downloads/opc-ua-clients.html
- Log in required to download UaExpert
- Download the uaexpert-bin-win32-x86-x.y.z.zip to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
- Extract the uaexpert-bin-win32-x86-x.y.z.exe from the zip file to “C:\Downloads”
- Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
- Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
- Enter the following command: uaexpert-bin-win32-x86-x.y.z.exe /S
- Press Enter
After a few moments you should see the UaExpert Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Change the UaExpert Default Installation Directory
You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing UaExpert to “C:\UnifiedAutomation\UaExpert”
uaexpert-bin-win32-x86-x.y.z.exe /S /D=C:\UnifiedAutomation\UaExpert |
Disable UaExpert Automatic Check for Updates
- Open Notepad or your favorite text editor
- Add the following lines:
[Configuration]
AutomaticUpdate.CheckForUpdates=false
- Save the file to C:\Downloads and name it: uaexpert.ini
- Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
- Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
- Enter the following command:
xcopy /y ".\uaexpert.ini" "%AppData%\unifiedautomation\uaexpert\" |
