TreeSize Silent Install (How-To Guide)

How to Install TreeSize Silently

TreeSize Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to: https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/TreeSizeFreeSetup.exe
  2. Download the TreeSizeFreeSetup.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following command: TreeSizeFreeSetup.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
  6. Press Enter

After a few moments you will find TreeSize entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create a TreeSize Installation Log File

The TreeSize installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following commands to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change the TreeSize Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing TreeSize to “C:\TreeSize”

TreeSizeFreeSetup.exe /DIR="C:\TreeSize Free" /VERYSILENT /NORESTART

Include the TreeSize Desktop Shortcut During Install

The TreeSize installer does NOT create a desktop shortcut by default. If you want the desktop shortcut, then you can run the following command line switches to include it.

  1. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
