TranslatorX Silent Install (How-To Guide)

How to Install TranslatorX Silently

TranslatorX Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to: https://translatorx.org/updates/TranslatorX_win.zip
  2. Download the TranslatorX_win.zip to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Extract the TranslatorX.exe using 7-Zip to C:\Downloads
  4. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  5. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  6. Enter the following command: TranslatorX.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
  7. Press Enter

After a few moments you will find TranslatorX entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create a TranslatorX Installation Log File

The TranslatorX installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following command to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change the TranslatorX Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing TranslatorX to “C:\TranslatorX”

Include the TranslatorX Desktop Shortcut During Install

The TranslatorX installer does not create a desktop shortcut by default. If you want the desktop shortcut, then you can run the following command line switches to include it.

Suppress TranslatorX End User License Agreement (EULA)

  • Open Notepad or your favorite text editor
  • Add the following lines:

  • Save the file to C:\Downloads and name it: TranslatorX.pref
  • Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  • Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  • Enter the following command:
xcopy /y ".\TranslatorX.pref" "%AppData%\TranslatorX\"
