How to Install SketchUp Pro 2019 Silently

SketchUp 2019 Silent Install (MSI)

  1. Navigate to: SketchUp Older Versions
  2. Download the SketchUpPro2019-x64.msi to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Navigate to:
  4. Download the VC_redist.x64.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  5. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  6. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  7. Enter the following commands:
VC_redist.x64.exe /install /quiet /norestart
MsiExec.exe /i SketchUpPro2019-x64.msi /qn

After a few minutes you should see the SketchUp Desktop Shortcuts appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create a SketchUp Pro 2019 Installation Log File

The SketchUp Pro 2019 MSI installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following commands to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change the SketchUp Pro 2020 Default Installation Directory

You can change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing SketchUp to “C:\SketchUp 2019”

MsiExec.exe /i SketchUpPro2019-x64.msi INSTALLDIR="C:\SketchUp 2019" /qn

Suppress SketchUp 2019 EULA Prompt

You can suppress the EULA prompt that pops up when the application is launched for the first time by completing the following steps.

  • Open Notepad or your favorite text editor
  • Add the following lines:
    "This Computer Only": {
        "Application": {
            "RunCounterSU": 0
        "Common": {
            "AcceptedEULA": true
  • Save the file and name it: PrivatePreferences.json
  • Copy the PrivatePreferences.json file to “%LocalAppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2019\SketchUp\”

Activate Classic SketchUp License

You can activate a classic SketchUp license by completing the following steps.

  • Open Notepad or your favorite text editor
  • Add the following information sent to you from SketchUp:
User name:


Serial number:

Authorization Code:

Support number:

Support end date:
  • Save the file and name it: activation_info.txt
  • Copy the activation_info.txt file to “C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2019\”
