Plane9 Silent Install (How-To Guide)

Plane9 is a 3d visualizer where you never have to settle for just one view ever again. It features over 250 predefined scenes to choose from, but it doesn’t end there since the scenes can be combined with one another to form a near endless supply of new views to experience. 39 transition are used to form a continous experience when moving from scene to scene. This article will serve as an informative guide and give you a clear understanding of how to perform a silent installation of Plane9 from the command line using the EXE installer.

How to Install Plane9 Silently

Plane9 Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to:
  2. Download & Copy the Plane9-w.x.y.z.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following commands:
Plane9-w.x.y.z.exe /S
TASKKILL /F /IM rundll32.exe
TASKKILL /F /IM Plane9.exe

After a few moments you will find Plane9 entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Additional Configurations

Change the Plane9 Default Installation Directory

You can change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing Plane9 to “C:\Plane9”.

Plane9-w.x.y.z.exe /S /D=C:\Plane9

  1. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  2. Enter one of the following sets of commands:

"%ProgramFiles%\Plane9\uninst.exe" /S

Plane9 Silent Uninstall (EXE) on 64-bit System

"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Plane9\uninst.exe" /S
