MeshLab Silent Install (How-To Guide)

MeshLab is an open-source, and extensible system for the processing and editing of unstructured 3D triangular meshes. It’s primarily used for editing, processing, and analyzing 3D models, particularly those obtained through 3D scanning or created through computer-aided design (CAD) software. This article will serve as an informative guide and give you a clear understanding of how to perform a silent installation of MeshLab from the command line using the EXE installer.

How to Install MeshLab Silently

MeshLab Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to:
  2. Download the MeshLab202x.xx-windows.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following command: MeshLab202x.xx-windows.exe /S
  6. Press Enter

After a few moments you should see the MeshLab Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Change the MeshLab Default Installation Directory

You can change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing MeshLab to “C:\MeshLab”

MeshLab202x.xx-windows.exe /S /D=C:\MeshLab
