Electrum Silent Install (How-To Guide)


Electrum is a lightweight Bitcoin client, based on a client-server protocol that provides a cryptocurrency storage solution. How to Install Electrum Silently

Electrum Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Navigate to: https://electrum.org/#download
  2. Download the electrum-x.y.z-setup.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following command: electrum-x.y.z-setup.exe /S
  6. Press Enter

After a few moments you should see the Electrum Desktop Shortcut appear. You will also find entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Change Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing Electrum to “C:\Electrum”

electrum-x.y.zsetup.exe /S /D=C:\Electrum

How to Uninstall Electrum Silently

  1. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  2. Enter one of the following commands:

"%ProgramFiles%\Electrum\Uninstall.exe" /S

Electrum Silent Uninstall (EXE) on 64-bit Systems
