BIM Vision Silent Install (How-To Guide)

BIM Vision allows you to view the virtual models coming from various CAD systems like Revit, Archicad, BricsCAD BIM, Advance, DDS CAD, Tekla, Nemetschek VectorWorks, Bentley, Allplan and others without the necessity of having commercial licenses of these systems or having each of particular vendor’s viewer. How to Install BIM Vision Silently

BIM Vision Silent Install (EXE)

  1. Download the BIM Vision Installer
  2. Download the file to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
  3. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  4. Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
  5. Enter the following command:
    • "BIM Vision x.x.x Setup.exe" /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
  6. Press Enter

After a few moments you should find BIM Vision entries in the Start Menu, Installation Directory, and Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Create an Installation Log File

The BIM Vision installer offers the option to generate a log file during installation to assist with troubleshooting should any problems arise. You can use the following commands to create a verbose log file with details about the installation.

Change Default Installation Directory

You can also change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing BIM Vision to “C:\BIM Vision”

Include Desktop Shortcut During Install

The BIM Vision installer does NOT create desktop shortcuts by default. If you want the desktop shortcuts, then you can run the following command line switches to include them.

How to Uninstall BIM Vision Silently

  1. Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  2. Enter one of the following commands:

"%ProgramFiles%\Datacomp\BIM Vision\unins000.exe" /VERYSILENT /NORESTART

BIM Vision Silent Uninstall (EXE) on 64-bit System
