- Download the atlassian-servicedesk-x.y.z-x64.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)

You can change the default installation directory by using the following command line parameters. In this example, I’m installing Atlassian Jira Service Desk to “C:\Atlassian\Jira”

Generate a Custom Response File for Jira Service Desk
- Navigate to: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/service-management/download-archives
- Download the atlassian-servicedesk-x.y.z-x64.exe to a folder created at (C:\Downloads)
- Right-Click the atlassian-servicedesk-x.y.z-x64.exe and select Run as Administrator
- On the Welcome to the Jira Service Desk installation wizard, click Next
- Choose the Custom Install option, click Next
- Select the Jira installation directory, click Next
- Select the Jira Service Desk home directory, click Next
- Select the checkbox next to Create shortcuts for all users, then click Next
- Configure your preferred TCP ports, click Next
- Decide whether or not to install Jira as a Service, click Next

- Navigate to the directory where the response.varfile is located
- (Default location is C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Jira.install4j\response.varfile)
- Copy the response.varfile to C:\Downloads
- Uninstall Atlassian Jira Service Desk to test newly created response file
- Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
- Navigate to the C:\Downloads folder
- Enter the following command:
